Inés Silva presents the catalogue of Rhythms of Geometry at Durban Segnini Gallery

The Venezuelan artist will be joined by Rayma Suprani on Saturday, October 17, from 6 to 9 pm

Miami. Durban Segnini Gallery invites you to the presentation of the catalogue of Rhythms of Geometry, the solo exhibition of Venezuelan artist Inés Silva (Caracas, 1970). The event will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 6 to 9 pm, at the gallery, 3072 SW 38th Ave, Miami, FL 33146. The artist will be joined by Venezuelan artist and cartoonist Rayma Suprani.

The catalogue brings together the works in the exhibition, which opened on August 22: reliefs, columns, folding screens and suspended structures in Plexiglas, through which Silva turns geometry into an experience of light, transparency and movement. The 36-page publication, in English, includes the curatorial essay by art historian Domitille d’Orgeval, photographs by Antonio Chagin and design by Andrea Moratinos.

Trained as an architect at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Silva draws on mathematical schemes (the golden ratio, the Fibonacci spiral and Le Corbusier’s Modulor) to build pieces that change depending on where they are seen from or how they are handled. Some of her columns reach 2.26 m (7 ft 5 in) in height. In the catalogue, d’Orgeval writes:

“Ines Silva’s works never give themselves up at a single glance; each emerges in space and in time, to the rhythm of movement and interaction. […] Far from an autonomous abstraction, they make perception itself the true setting of her work.”

Critics place her work in dialogue with the Constructivist experiments of Naum Gabo, Antoine Pevsner and László Moholy-Nagy, and with the geometric and kinetic avant-garde of the 1950s–1970s: the Madí group, Soto, Agam and Lygia Clark.

About the artist. Inés Silva graduated with honors from the School of Architecture and Urbanism of the Universidad Central de Venezuela (UCV) in 1992. She received the Critics’ Award at the 1st FAU-UCV Art Biennial (2002) and took part in the 6th Pirelli Young Artists Salon at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas Sofía Imber. She has been represented by Galerie Denise René, Paris, since December 2015. Her work has been shown at the ZKM Center for Art and Media, Karlsruhe (Negative Space, 2019), the Coral Gables Museum (For Now, 2019–2020), the Vasarely Museum, Budapest (2020) and the Museum Haus Ludwig, Saarlouis (2012). She has also taken part in the Comparaisons and Réalités Nouvelles salons in Paris, and has exhibited in Belgium, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Peru, Russia, Spain, the United States and Venezuela. She has lived and worked in Miami since 2010.
